The Milford Worship Ministry More than a song ...

Our Biblical mandate and definition of worship is found in Romans 12:1, “Therefore, I urge you brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God – this is your spiritual act of worship” God calls us to offer more than a nice voice and a pretty song, but indeed our whole bodies. We believe worship is a lifestyle not a weekly event.

Music is obviously an important part of our worship ministry, but it is not the object of our worship. Music provides a means of expressing our love and devotion to God. It is also a tool of communicating biblical truths to people. The Bible is full of examples of music in worship. From the Levites in the Old Testament to the angels in Bethlehem proclaiming the birth of the Messiah the Bible clearly portrays music as an important element in worship.

Our Worship ministry is not music centered, but rather, God centered. Our role as lead worshiper, is to prompt and lead the congregation who stands on the stage before an audience of One. This belief shapes everything we do. Our goal is not to entertain or even please the congregation, but to offer true worship to God.

Milford’s Choir:

The Celebration Choir is a Choir leading worship during the 11:00 a.m. Service. Milford also has a Senior Adult Choir called the Golden Tones. This special choir's primary purpose is to sing at local nursing and assisted living homes.

At Milford, we are committed to the role of the choir, not like you have known in the past, but we are updating it to keep it fresh and new in the life of the contemporary church. Yes, it is an area that requires our commitment, time and energy because it provides so many people with an outlet for service and ministry.

Purpose and Goals:

Our music is celebrative, with a message. Our goal is to touch the heart and stimulate the mind. The choir is treated as a large ensemble both in rehearsal and in worship. The choir is contagious – the congregation will never express themselves corporately more than what the choir models for them.

Our choir is open to all who love to sing praises to our God - no need for an audition!

We meet on Wednesdays at 7:15 pm. for practice.

Prayer is something that cannot be organized into a program. People are either praying or they are not. We believe that if our church is to be successful in accomplishing the purposes God has for us, we MUST pray. Listed below are tools Milford provides to facilitate the prayer needs of our church family

The Bible tells us in Ecclesiastes 9:10a "Whatever your hands finds to do, do it with all your might”. And that is what we do with our “Hands Up” Creative Arts Ministry.

We use puppets, dowel rods, drama, dance and skits to convey the message of God’s love. We perform in nursing homes, Upwards Ceremonies, children programs, schools, churches and businesses.

We write our own skits allowing us to personalize the presentation to the group we are performing for. Most of our shows last 30 to 45 minutes and we find we appeal to the adults and teens as well as the children in the audience.

Each summer we take trips to present our drama to churches and work with them to promote VBS, special events, community celebrations and outreach.

If you would like to have us perform at your church, contact us at 770-435-8720.for information. Booking Request Form (click here)

At Milford Baptist Church, we are eager to plug you into meaningful ministries. Whether God has given you a desire to work with children, youth, or senior adults, we want to help you get plugged in and equip you for service.

However, due to insurance requirements, if you work with minors (anyone under the age of 18), it is necessary for the church to complete a background check on you and keep it on file. We have made this process extremely simple, and it will cost you nothing.

If you need to have a background check done, please (click here) and you will be redirected to our partner website. Their site is secure, your information will be kept confidential, and it will only take a couple of minutes of your time.

Thank you for your desire to serve at Milford Baptist! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Candice Farmer. You can call her at (770) 435-8720, or you can reach her by email by (clicking here).
